Can Watching Super Bowl Help Your Eye Sight

So now that you have your beer all chilled up, your dip all whipped up and your snacks all ready to go, let's see if watching Super Bowl gives your eyes sufficient exercise to benefit your eye sight.

While this seems a bit of a stretch, in fact, your eyes are getting plenty of exercise as you chase the ball from one end of your big screen TV to the other. You are even working out your focus while watching your favorite player run the yards without taking your eyes off of the screen. So this is good, right?

Well, although we tried, we couldn't get experts to quite side with us.

"While all this is good exercise and you even count the happiness factor and blood rushing through your veins to provide ample blood supply to your eyes, this may not be sufficient to help your eyes", says Dr. Khan, Lead Optometrist at Sight N' Steps. "Generally, people have their eyes glued to the screen, they are focused and in that they may not even be blinking enough to replenish moisture on the surface of their eyes. This may not be particularly good for their eyes". But here are a few things you can do to help your eyes:

- Look away from the screen every once in a while - perhaps during commercials;

- Blink as often as you can;

- Snack healthy; and

- Try not to get any of that cheesy, twisty dip in your eyes!!

- All in all, Have fun, Stay safe, and take care of friends by not letting them drive if they had a few with you while watching the game!!
